During my time at AvtechTyee, one of the greatest challenges faced by the engineering team was severe inefficiency due to a newly implemented documentation system for export control compliance. This involved reclassifying every legacy item in our database, as the new standard was no longer compatible with our previous methods.

I collaborated with the engineering team, our trade compliance specialist, and our PLM administrator to identify the primary roadblocks involved with this process and create a new standard to allow ECOs to be released significantly faster than before.

Once the new system was developed, I trained the engineering team on how to format and submit the new Jurisdiction and Classification forms according to trade compliance standards, ensuring minimal confusion or productivity loss after the end of my contract.

Additionally, I reviewed our PLM database, identifying 3000+ items that could be proactively updated in bulk rather than requiring engineers to address them in the future, resulting in an estimated $38,000 savings for the company
